How long each has been part of this
Tennessee has recognized compact privilege since January 19, 2018; Indiana since July 1, 2020 — a gap of about 2 years. That is worth knowing because the newer member is where employers, staffing agencies and HR systems are most likely to still be working from an out-of-date understanding of what a multistate license covers.

Where Kentucky gives the compact one titled section inside the nursing chapter, Indiana gives it an entire separate article — art. 42 — sitting apart from art. 23, which holds the nurse practice act. So the nursing article is not where Indiana’s compact law lives, and a search confined to it finds nothing. The residence-change duties that catch nurses after a move are at IC 25-42-4-3 and 25-42-4-4.

Things to keep in mind
- Compact privilege only applies if your license is multistate, not single-state. Check this in Nursys.
- You must meet Tennessee's practice requirements (for example, scope of practice and any continuing-education rules).
- APRN roles are generally not covered by the standard compact — APRNs usually need separate authorization in each state.
