That makes this pairing a compact seam — the line where multistate privilege stops. Utah issues and honours multistate licenses; Nevada does not. The boundary between them is a road people cross without thinking, and licensure changes at it.
This matters most for the people it is easiest to overlook: anyone living on one side and working on the other, picking up shifts across the line, or covering a facility that draws staff from both. But asking Nevada to verify a license TO another board is a separate, paid process — a written request with a $25 fee, sent by the board directly to the requesting agency rather than handed to the nurse. If a nurse is moving out of Nevada by endorsement, that request should be started early; it is not something they can print themselves.

Utah has recognized compact privilege since January 19, 2018. Nevada does not recognize it, so the comparison is not between two dates — it is between a state where privilege exists and one where a license has to be held outright.

Utah Code tit. 58, ch. 31e (Nurse Licensure Compact — Revised), § 58-31e-102 ↗Utah is the jurisdiction where citing the wrong chapter is easiest, because BOTH compacts are still in the code. Chapter 31c is the PRIOR compact and chapter 31e is the current one — party states to the old compact were deemed withdrawn within six months of the new one taking effect. A citation to 58-31c therefore points at superseded law that still looks live on the page. This is the same trap that produced repealed section numbers for Arizona, except here it is visible if you read the chapter titles.

Things to keep in mind
- A compact (multistate) license is issued by your primary state of residence. Since Nevada is non-compact, that option is not available through Nevada.
- If you later make a compact state your primary residence, you may become eligible for a multistate license then.
